PIB Property Owners Association
The Put in Bay Property Owners Association is a non-profit group of property owners dedicated to the enhancement of Put in Bay Village and Township. Our focus is civic in nature, providing all property owners a forum to discuss community issues. We seek to preserve Put in Bay’s unique identity while encouraging appropriate activity.
We are dedicated to promoting the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Put in Bay. All residents are welcome to attend our meetings.
Sponsor a Directional Sign
Pictured (left to right) are Jim Duffy, president of the Put-in-Bay Property Owners Association, Joe Ptak and Peter Huston, members of the sign committee. They are shown here with one of the first three of many-to-come signs which will provide visitors directions to many of the important places on the island. The signs, designed to take the confusion out of travelling island roads, will have a common design and will be placed at appropriate locations to best serve the public. Traffic flow on the island should be improved if visitors can instantly see where they want to go as opposed to stopping at our confusing intersections and trying to figure out where they are on a map. This particular sign is at the old cemetery where Meechen Rd. dead ends into Catawba Ave. Another has already been placed at the corner of Meechen and Airport Rd. Miller Boat Line will soon be installing a third out by the Lime Kiln Dock. This particular sign was installed by Richard Gump and it really looks great. The Put-in-Bay Property Owners Association is looking for sponsors for the signs and is soliciting island businesses, organizations and individuals for donations to purchase more of the signs and have them installed in prominent places around the island. Each sign has raised letters costs about $800. If you are interested in sponsoring a sign or have questions, you can talk with Jim, Joe or Peter when you see them out and about, or you can call Jim Duffy at (216) 469-0599. This is a great thing for Put-in-Bay. (Printed with permission from the Put-in-Bay Gazette, September-2016 Issue)
